DFID supports several Conciliation Resources Projects whose main goal is to promote an environment for dialogue and reconciliation. The hope is that these projects will be continued after the first 2.5 years is completed. DFID supports UNV projects on confidence building and dialogue. It also supports International Alert projects. In addition to these large projects, DFID supports smaller initiatives of NGOs cooperating on both sides. Most notable is the successful cooperation project developed by IDP women in Kutaisi who are working with Abhaz women to design charity efforts for vulnerable populations in Abkhazia, to plan business and trade development, and civil society training.
