UNVs main goal is to build national capacity for conflict transformation on both sides in the Abkhaz conflict, and to work in zones of high ethno-social tensions, like Javakheti. This year (2001), UNV has been working on building the capacity of NGOs in conflict transformation and confidence building. It also supports the publication of a childrens magazine for IDP children and children in conflict zones, distributed free of charge. UNV has help its traditional summer camps Bulgaria for children from all regions of Georgia (including Abkahazia and Ossetia). This year (2001) it organized a metting in Crimea of 16-23 year old veterans of 6 years of Bulgarian summer camps. UNV gives small grants not only for conflict transformation activites, but related activities in human rights, environmental issues, income generation, and rehabilitation because it believes that these activites can influence confidence building.
